- SOLD 1959 356A Porsche Cabriolet
- This is a lovely looking and great driving
A Model Cabriolet and is a true California ‘Black Plate’
vehicle. It appears to be for the most part an unrestored car,
with new paint and interior within the last few years. The floors
and longetudinals are either in remarkable original condition,
or were replaced many years ago, and correctly done. There is
no sign of any clips, or sections replaced, or even any major
damage in any of the outer skin, and the original hood is in
excellent condition.
- The interior is also in excellent condition
and is very complete, including two very nice sun visors, a Becker
Europa radio, original speaker grilles, a clock with a second
hand, and a wood-rimmed Moto Lita steering wheel. The centerpiece
to the car has got to be the very rare ‘bench’ leather
seat, complete and correctly fitted to this car.
- The original engine is absolutely correct
and complete with the exception of a Bosch 050 distributor. It
starts easy, drives very well, shifts good and has a very quiet
transmission. The brakes feel good and appear to have been freshened
up about 3 years ago.
- The only obvious problems in the entire car
are that both door bottoms have been worked on, and the gaps
and panel fit becomes inconsistent in that area. There are also
some small bubbles appearing in about 4 areas in the paint. Overall,
a hard to find model in outstanding useable condition.
